7 ways to deal with overwhelm

"𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙁𝙀𝙀𝙇𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙒𝙃𝙀𝙇𝙈𝙀𝘿?"⁠

Funny how this question was raised to me recently because,⁠ a lot of things are happening very quickly. . .⁠maybe, "overwhelmed" with excitement and thrill?

Anyway, here are the 7 things I do when I feel overwhelmed. Hoping that you might find this helpful as you deal with it too.⁠

1. Change the environment. Get up and walk outside if I can.⁠

2. Roll lavender essential oil on the palms of my hands and take 3 deep breaths to reset my soul.⁠

3. I sing opera at the top of my voice- as a trained opera singer, these get together vibrations moving through my body and it's proven that singing alters the brain waves...so it helps to calm my body and take it out and away from the perceived "overwhelm" state.⁠

4. Cuddle Rocket, my cockerpoo

5. Cook...I love to enjoy this space as it gives me time to settle and think.

6. Go to sleep - a siesta is a fabulous way to reset the mind.⁠

7. Write the word OVERWHELM then take the letters and make other words out of it- break it up- shake it up- change it until it takes a new form! In an NLP form, this dilutes the attachment of the state and shifts it to a more useful state.⁠
