Drop the label

What label do you still carry around with you from your childhood?

Feels so refreshing since I ditched my perfectionist label! I thought I'd share my thoughts with you, cosmic souls.

I’m a recovering perfectionist, stemming from childhood there was always this need to be perfect – which was accompanied by illnesses such as bulimia, anxiety, and depression. Growing up I found solace in music, and eventually started teaching it.

Then 13 years ago I ‘woke up’ – in fact, I just about to walk down the aisle with my fiancé and seemingly perfect life I left it all to go live in a shared house and figure out what it was I actually wanted. I’m a big believer in following my intuition, and I followed it to California where I trained to be a yoga teacher and worked as a confidence coach weaving performance arts and singing into my practice with clients.

Tomorrow I get to share my first ever published piece in a book called 2020 vision. I am so excited to share it with you all. I wrote it from a "messy place" I freed the writer in me to be fully expressive and open in her sharing. And she loved it!!

Here are my suggestions to find the labels you are still believing in...

Take a notebook and pen with you for the next week

How do you introduce yourself to others?

When talking to your family do you play the fool? Act like a clown? live up to the naughty one label?

Write them all down.

Then sit with a candle and tune in to each label some you may want to keep others you will be willing to just burn away...

Take the paper to the flame and burn away the labels which bind you to old and conditioned ways...

And be open to what is to come...

My new label is Cosmic Dancer and I love it! Do you?
