Mission Impossible...Becoming A Sustainable Soulpreneur
CAPSULE FOR CONFIDENCE WITH KANDI
I’m Natalie Farrell Intuitive Writer, Creative Solopreneur and Founder of Yummy Yoga Girl and The Soul Fuelled Living Hub. A space for women like you who are...
►Hungry for knowledge, new insight, and freedom
► In need of guidance to enable them to heal themselves
► Wanting to be held in a safe environment as they spiritually wake up
I’m passionate about reconnecting women to believing in their creative power and unlocking their intuitive mastery so they can find the answers to their soul's purpose. I am also a woman with hidden depths and talents!
As a recovered perfectionist who played the numbing down game for far too long. I am showing up here truly as the soul I was born to be.
As a Rising Soulpreneur, I am now more about sustenance than substance. And that’s why I wanted to share this story with you (to give you the confidence to know anything is possible) of how I started a business from scratch in an industry I knew nothing about!
So here is my hidden depth and what people don’t know about me I am the founder of Yummy Yoga Girl, a yoga wear brand, committed to sustainability and non-conformist color bombing! Who in September 2017, realized a long-held ambition to design my own range of activewear, the Kandi Collection.
My vision was to develop a clothing range that would be stylish yet practical and comfortable enough to be suitable to wear for a wide range of activities both inside the studio and out. Passionate about the environment I ventured into a 'slow fashion project promoting conscious shopping with fashion designer and fellow yogi Sue Mee Maudsley after we met by chance one snowy day in December.
Together, we set about designing and producing clothing that would feel fantastic, stand up to the rigors of movement, would celebrate the wearer’s character, and provide them with a capsule wardrobe that would work all year round, no matter the weather or season.
Keeping fit and healthy is a journey of self-discovery and I wanted the clothing range to reflect the many aspects of innovative and creative individuals whilst celebrating the inner beauty that yoga can help us find. I selected uplifting and inspiring colours and patterns to help represent our inner joyful spirit, and fabrics made from natural fibers, such as our slouchy Tee Barbara, which is 100% organic cotton.
Let me share with you how I select clothes these days. The first thing I do when walking into a clothes shop and something that catches my eye feels the fabric. I just can't help myself! If it feels soft to my touch I make the next move! I look at the tags, firstly the material composition and secondly where the item was made, and thirdly the price. If it's a combination fabric for example polyester and cotton, I know the cost will reflect this and be a little more but worth it in the long run.

Why? The items last longer, they do not smell after a workout and you'll just love this, the yummy thing about natural fibers is that they feel better next to the skin, benefiting our psyche, energy and nervous system (the bodies communication network) they are also eco-friendly and have less effect on the environment as the fabric composition makes them more biodegradable.
Yoga is all about unification, connecting with yourself, the earth, and the natural environment, so right from the beginning, I wanted my clothes to represent this by making a conscious vow to be eco-friendly. But yoga can be a dynamic workout too, it’s all about building core strength and flexibility, so the clothing needs to be able to stand the rigors of regular workouts and washing. The Kandi, Moodi, and Sienna leggings are made from high-tech performance fabric with a 2-way stretch making them 100% "squat proof!" And the big bonus ladies is they are non-transparent. You can down dog until your heart’s content with the confidence your neighbour is safe from a floral pant display!

We also have good news for you busy people the items can be washed on a low cycle (delicate wash, 30-40 degrees) and dry overnight, ready for the following day’s session. They’re good for packing in your sports bag too, as the leggings don’t crease and the tops roll easily. Top tip: if you love traveling Ronda and Ella are the perfect companion.
We like to look good too, though, don’t we? We may be working out, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look stylish whilst we’re doing it. And what about when we’re on our way to and from the yoga studio or the gym? With over 20 years of experience as a fashion designer, designing for brands such as Topshop and Monsoon, Sue Mee's expert eye on creating the perfect combination of items is available to you whatever the day brings. You can match an outfit to suit the weather, your mood, and the attention to detail in the planning goes as far as being able to cover up your derrière or not with Ella our 2-way tie-up vest, the choice is there for you to decide.
I was passionate about another vow - to bring abundance for the modern Yogini living a holistic lifestyle so that the clothes would look good enough to be worn outside of the studio too, maybe dressed up with a beautiful jacket, a statement necklace, your fav pair of jeans and a killer pair of heels. The more confident you feel within, the more confident you feel to shine bright and then the clothes morph into an extension of who you truly are.
For me, this is the ultimate in body confidence and what I teach my clients as "defining wisdom without words." Be authentic always and in all ways and you will begin to care less about how you look and focus more on how you feel and then you have reached the state I refer to as "body beautiful" - and can lead a happy healthy lifestyle. Who would have thought yoga could change the way you dress!
I can truly say that my Yummy Yoga Girl Kandi Collection has been created with 100% passion and care, right from that first meeting in the coffee shop, through the design, all the way to production. Each item has been named after some of the many inspiring places in the world which I have visited; Kandi and Ella (Sri Lanka), Siena (Italy), Ronda (Spain), and Barbara (Santa Barbara in America, which holds special memories for me as that is where I trained to be a yoga instructor) and Buda (Budapest).
The clothes are of boutique quantities not mass-produced and each piece coordinates with other items in the collection. They are designed to make you smile, to represent your individuality, celebrate your creativity and be almost a second skin that makes you both feel and look absolutely amazing – in short, the perfect capsule wardrobe for exercise wear for the Amazing You.
